About Me
My name is Annushka and I recently finished my third year at Harvard College, where I study History and Mathematics. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I enjoy reading, cycling, and collecting postcards.
So far, two of my most formative experiences have been debating competitively (which I reflect on here), and attending the Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific (which I reflect on here and here).

About Agarwhale
I started this blog in 2019, and migrated to Substack in 2022. I typically write about books, history, and experiences from my life. The name “Agarwhale” is a portmanteau of my last name (Agarwal) and my favourite animal (the whale).
The original goal of the blog was to work on my writing and get feedback from friends and family. In the past few years, I’ve moved around a lot and my network of people has grown increasingly scattered. I like to think the blog gives them a window into what I am thinking about.
Not everything on the blog reflects my current views, but I’ve tried to leave most of the posts intact as a record of how my thinking and writing has evolved.
